The Hunger Crisis in Uganda

In Uganda, over 30% of children under 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition. Street children in Mukono District face even harsher realities, with many going days without proper meals.

These children resort to rag picking, begging, and sometimes criminal activities just to survive. Without intervention, they face stunted growth, developmental delays, and shortened lifespans.

Our organization was founded by local youths who could no longer stand by while watching children suffer from preventable hunger.

Our Mission:

Mainstreaming the elderly, children and widows, single mothers in the national building by providing care, support & protection, food, and basic income generating activities to help them have a decent life..

Our Vision:

To see improvement in the livelihood of the elderly, children and widows, single mothers.

The Project – An Overview:

In spite of planned development and special provision for accelerated socio-economic development of neglected/disadvantaged sections in our country Uganda, the issue of the elderly, children, widows & single mothers is not properly addressed. The problem of elderly, children, widows is acute due to deaths of affected persons, Re-marriage of Deserted / Widowed / Divorce women, Absence of love and security in the families, Family disputes, Unwanted pregnancy of Trafficking / Sexually exploited girls; these are left without care ,love and support. Some children are involved in rag picking; pick pocketing and participating in anti social, criminal activities.

Therefore, we envisage mainstreaming these people in the national building by providing love , care, support and protection in our SHARE TO CARE PROJECT. The project proposed in this scheme is meant for additional support to run the project and support in of people mentioned and the target group number is 100 people annually.
